Spacious Dance at Individuality in Contact 2023

We’re excited to announce our guest teacher Irene Sposetti, a renowned international artist and experienced facilitator. We invite you to  this special occasion for a concentrated and immersive time to explore, learn and integrate the foundational aspects and physical principles of Contact Improvisation, according to Irene’s movement research, practice, and work of the past 20 years.

This invitation is open to movers who are engaged in the study of the dance form of Contact Improvisation, and who already have a foundation in its principles and techniques. However, participants of different skill levels are welcome to attend and learn together, nourishing each other in the process while receiving specific tools and attention according to their needs.

“THE BREATH OF GRAVITY”

Our meeting will be dedicated to exploring and deepening technical aspects of Contact Improvisation, aiming to reach a greater
openness to physical possibilities while attending to the limits and potential of our bodies in motion. Investigating the subtle mechanics
of movement underlying the embodiment of non-verbal agreements to off-balance and interdependent movement, seeking at safely and
skilfully combining with one another while dancing.  We will focus on the improvisational and relational skills involved in
partnering and co-creating dances, emphasising observing and being aware towards creative, authentic and in depth exploratory
processes. We will play with solo, partnering and group scores, embodying and articulating creative improvisations, exploring the compositional
aspects and manifold gifts of the dance.
